Directions

Leave the A19 at junction with the A690 and head for Sunderland. Carry on over the first roundabout then turn right at the second, following the signs for Silksworth Sports Complex. Follow the road right up to the main building and park in the car park. The lake is a 5 minute walk. See the map outside. Alternatively you can drive past the entrance to the junction signposted Silksworth and turn left. Follow the road to the island , turn left and continue on that road until you see the entrance for Sainsbury’s Store. You can park in the far corner of the car park and the bottom lake is about 150 yards away. This access point is without doubt the best means of getting to the bottom lake for those people with a disability
