Match Secretary's Report 2012

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who attended the matches. Even when the fishing wasn't that good we still had a good time. The highlight of the year has to be the monster Pike of 15 lb 13 oz D.Aspey caught on 1lb 8 oz hooklength during the first Woodlands Tackle Open.

I still have no magic wand for perfect weather or to get the fish to feed, but it wasn't too bad through 2011. Unfortunately there were some falling attendances in the Winter Series but this is to be expected when weather turns cold. Thanks to all those concerned for their continued assistance at the competitions and also deputising when I couldn't attend.

I'm looking forward to seeing you again on the bank this year and hope more of you turn out. Even if you don't want to enter the pools or think it's not for you give it a try, it's never too serious and we always have good banter and a laugh. There are some extra and new venue Away days booked for you
as requested.

As always I am welcome to receive suggestions to improve your match fishing experience whether at Silksworth or elsewhere.

In conjunction with Tony Kidd I am looking into making his match a charity event, most likely for Parkinson's disease. Information will be available when arranged fully on club web site, maggotdrowners web site and hopefully local press and radio. Your support will be appreciated if I can get this off the ground.
